Are you guys familiar with ASMR? It’s hardly to miss on any the main social media platforms. ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) is a feeling of comfort combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck as experienced by some people in response to a certain stimulus, often a particular sound. I experience it when watching people eat crunchy food. Call me a freak, but yes, I do very much enjoy Food ASMR videos. Not much more to say to this piece then that to be honest. It’s ASMR 2.0 maybe even. Instead of watching and hearing a performance you need to call upon your imagination to summon the sensation that would be caused by biting into a crispy, deep fried mozzarella stick covered with crispy ramen.
To self-experiment you have to unpack and drain the mozzarella, dab it dry with paper towels. Let it sit for a while so that it can dry a bit. Cut it into 5cm long and 1,5cm wide wedges. Dredge the sticks with flour, then dip it in egg wash that you spiced with the instant ramen spice pack, then finally coat it with ramen crumbs (just crunch the ramen up in a zip-loc until tiny) and repeat the whole process. Shallow-fry the sticks until golden brown at approx. 180°C and let definitely let them cool off a bit, before you bite into them. Drizzle with fresh lime juice and enjoy.
